The Other 44 States
The remaining 44 states follow the doctrine of direct communication β the notary must communicate directly with the signer without intermediary. This means interpreters are not authorized for the notarization ceremony itself.

How ClosingIQ Handles This
Important Distinction: Notario vs Notary
In Spanish-speaking countries, a 'notario' is a licensed attorney. In the US, a notary public is NOT an attorney and cannot give legal advice. ClosingIQ is a technology platform β we do not provide legal advice or immigration consulting. Always consult an immigration attorney for legal questions.
